📖 Reading Passage
(Word count: ~285)
Last Friday was supposed to be a smooth day for Lena. She had an important interview at 10 a.m., so she left her apartment early—only to discover that her bus had already left. “No worries,” she thought, deciding to grab a bite at a nearby café and wait for the next one. But as she was leaving the café, a gust of wind blew her coffee right out of her hand and onto her shirt.
Now running late, Lena sprinted back home to change. Just as she thought things couldn’t get worse, it started raining—out of the blue. She hadn’t brought an umbrella.
By the time she finally arrived at the interview, she was 20 minutes late, wet, and flustered. Strangely, the receptionist greeted her with a smile and said, “You’re early!” Confused, Lena checked her phone. The interview had been rescheduled to 11 a.m., and she had completely missed the email.
To her surprise, the interview turned out to be one of the best she’d ever had. The manager even laughed at her story, saying he admired her ability to stay calm during chaos.
That day didn’t go according to plan—but sometimes, that’s how the best stories begin.
